Billy Martin guitarist Wikipedia

Stuff like the DigiTech Whammy, which was a big sound in the late Nineties. And the Boss Super Phaser, the bright green one — I used that one a lot. That instinct has served Good Charlotte, who initially burst onto the scene as part of the late-Nineties pop-punk explosion, quite well. Good Morning Revival is the fourth album by Good Charlotte and the follow-up to 2004's The Chronicles of Life and Death. It was officially released in March 2007, with the precise date varying by country.

The compilation was later released in the US on January 6, 2011, and in Japan on February 16, 2011. A “best restaurant” label doesn’t necessarily mean sky-high prices; in fact, Brooks’ Sandwich House—where cash is the only accepted form of payment—serves $4 hot dogs and $8-a-pound beef chili. The nearly 50-year-old, family-run roadside stop recommends getting your cheeseburger made “all the way,” which includes mustard, onions, and the house made beef chili. As its name suggests, the wood-fired oven is the main event at this SouthPark spot, where everything from pizza, oysters, and pork chops to beets and corn are cooked over open flames. The menu is heavy on vegetables and proteins from local purveyors, and highlights include the succotash and the roasted barbecue chicken, served by the quarter or half. This Uptown, chef-driven spot from William Dissen of Asheville's lauded The Market Place is known for its commitment to Appalachian and Southern food.

On April 2, 2020, Benji and Joel Madden did a Good Charlotte performance livestream via Veeps, a livestreaming company owned by Joel Madden, with all proceeds going to "charitable efforts in our community in the COVID-19 pandemic". On September 25, 2020, Billy Martin did a guitar play through livestream on the 20th anniversary of the band's debut album. On December 18, 2020, after a week of previous teasing, Good Charlotte released a single called "Last December", which was the band's first new music in two years.

Tacos El Nevado—which has two locations in Charlotte—can partially attribute its glowing reviews to its $3 tacos, nachos, and homemade tortillas. In a world where tacos can be overly complex, Tacos El Nevado sticks to the basics, resulting in a hard-to-beat formula. Plus, you really can’t go wrong with a side of guacamole or choriqueso with fried corn tortilla chips. He was an assistant on Ty Lue's staff for the 2015-'16 championship and followed the future Hall of Famer to Los Angeles after his final season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Handy is unproven as a head coach, which will feel risky to Los Angeles given Ham was the same, but has been on the sidelines for nearly 15 years now. Should the Lakers want to bet on a relatively unproven commodity while keeping LeBron happy in the purple and gold, Handy is their man.

If you're on the hunt for no-frills, old-school Southern food, head to this Charlotte institution located on Wilkinson Boulevard between the airport and Uptown. Open since 1959, the drive-in was featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," and offers a variety of hickory-smoked barbecue plates and sandwiches as well as chicken wings, burgers, and sandwiches. Don't sleep on the sides which include crispy onion rings, macaroni and cheese, hand-battered hush puppies, and coleslaw. Much like many other bands, Good Charlotte had quite a hard time finding stability behind the drum kit.

Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin really, really likes to try new things. I did the rhythm tracks with a Sol-dano Hot Rod 100 and a Laney Ironheart, and I had an early Nineties Matchless that I used for a lot of the cleaner, more chime-y stuff. And I have a few pedals, but I prefer to use just straight amp distortion as much as possible.

“The box was for this series called Champions which was sort of like Marvel’s young Avengers group. Robert Ramos draws that book and he’s hands down on my favorite comic book artist so it was cool but daunting to get offered the chance to do a variant for one his books! Watch the full chat with Good Charlotte's Billy Martin below and if you want to pick up a guitar and start playing just like Billy, head over to Sweetwater.com for all your gear needs. That record is the new Generation Rx, Good Charlotte’s seventh full-length overall. Lyrically, it finds the band digging deep, exploring everything from drug use (“Actual Pain”) to violence and its aftereffects (“Prayers”) to child abuse (“Better Demos”) to self-hatred (“Shadowboxer”). On November 5, 2010, Good Charlotte's former label, Sony Music, released a Greatest Hits compilation for Australia, spanning 16 singles from the band's four studio albums released on that label.

With music on hold, Billy wanted to step away from his own art and knuckle down and draw his favorite heroes. Good Charlotte will be on tour with Sleeping With Sirens, Knuckle Puck, and The Dose this fall; head to their website to see all dates. On the Bad Cat, I have it set at about half gain a lot less distorted and with a little more treble. Everything is sort of back a couple of levels from the settings on the Mesa/Boogie.

Good Charlotte’s Billy Martin Plays His Favorite Riffs

“I’m just thankful that this many years later that people still care and people are still giving us a chance to do what we love doing and I appreciate and we’re thankful for it,” he shared. Good Charlotte still care, they very much do, and so do their fans. In this edition of Gear Factor, powered by Sweetwater, Good Charlotte's Billy Martin takes us through some of his favorite riffs, both from his own band and other acts, while revisiting the music that started it all for him.

Everybody did some kind of poster, but one kid asked if he could write a song for it. The teacher said he could, so he came in and played his guitar in the class and started yelling stuff like tacos and burritos over the top of the guitar chords. Then the teacher said that as long as he brought the guitar in, he might as well play for a little bit. So we were asking him to play Nirvana, and the kid would play Nirvana.

MADDEN Well, when we came out, it was ’98, ’99, and music at that time felt very manufactured. To me, the music that felt the realest was what the punk bands were doing, and so that was what we gravitated toward. I think our instincts were that we could only relate to shit where it felt like the person singing it had lived it. So we started playing with all the punk bands and the pop-punk bands because that was where we felt comfortable. I think we had a lot of that spirit and shared some similar core values, but at the same time I was inspired by, you know, Cash Money and everything that was going on in that rap scene.

Benji Madden, the guitarist and backing vocalist, co-founded Good Charlotte with his brother Joel. His guitar work and songwriting skills have been instrumental in shaping the band’s sound from their self-titled debut album in 2000 to their latest releases. Benji’s energetic performance style and distinctive tattoos have made him a recognizable figure in the pop punk community.
